Our organization was established to provide substantive, engaging historical content and activities for high school, middle school and elementary school teachers to use in their classrooms. Teaching history beyond the textbook with AIHE-developed materials dramatically increases students' comprehension of historical events, personalities and issues, as well as, improves their overall critical thinking, reading and understanding skills contributing to increased students' achievement.
AIHE specializes in:
• Teacher professional development including teacher training workshops, field trips, expert historian lectures, and teacher conferences.
• Development of curriculum supporting materials such as interactive lessons, lesson plans, classroom activities, assignments etc.
• Writing and directing the US Department of Education Teaching American History Grants (TAH Grants) for schools and school districts.
